EquiSox™ are a unique equine compression sock designed to optimise post-performance recovery, utilising elite sports medicine science and advanced technology normally applied to human sports and medical compression hosiery manufacture.

Designed to offset the concussive effects of ground reaction forces, the use of EquiSox after exercise or competitive performance assists soft tissue stabilisation with a close-fitting and consistent “second skin” compression. This also ensures uniform pressure to the vital tendons and ligaments of the lower limb.

EquiSox™ provide a measured Class 1(16mmHg) therapeutic level of compression and can achieve similar physiological effects that humans would obtain from wearing medical grade “flight socks”. EquiSox support and stimulate the circulatory and lymphatic systems, which in turn can effectively reduce swelling and filling of the lower limb. The use of EquiSox is an infinitely preferable and modern alternative to stable or support bandaging. Manufactured using technologically advanced yarns including Coolmax™, enhances the cooling, wicking and thermoregulatory effects of these performance socks.

EquiSox ™are extremely versatile and have a variety of competition, cryotherapy, hydrotherapy, performance, travel, rehabilitation and Veterinary uses.

EquiSox™ are designed for when a horse is at rest, stabled or travelling.

We recommend a maximum of 4-6 hours use.

Always make sure that EquiSox are applied to a clean leg and that the inside of the sock is checked and clear of any hay, straw, shavings etc.

 We recommend that EquiSox are regularly hand washed at 40°C with a mild powder detergent for hygiene and to maintain the correct compression level which will also prevent the socks slipping.

Prior to washing - always fasten the Velcro’s and do up the zips to prevent snagging of the fabric.

Do not bleach or dry clean.

Never use fabric conditioner or tumble dry EquiSox.

This ensures uniform pressure to the vital underlying tendons and ligaments of the lower limb. EquiSox are an infinitely preferable and modern alternative to stable bandaging. They avoid any issues from adaptions of bandage elastomeric tension (stretch) or human errors that can occur due to uneven pressure and bandage spiral overlap patterns. EquiSox support and stimulate the circulatory and lymphatic system which in turn can reduce swelling or filling of the lower limb.

EquiSox™ has a unique design that is manufactured to conform and mould to the anatomy of the distal limb. EquiSox offers a defined Class 1 (16mmHg) of therapeutic compression. The flexible panel is designed to align over the back of the fetlock so as the joint moves the tension in the knitting pattern of the panel creates a mini concertina effect. This ensures that there are no pressure points around the fetlock and no reciprocal pressure on the front of the joint. The revolutionary concertina design of the flexible panel creates a squeeze / release effect which mimics the peristaltic movement of the lymphatic and circulatory systems. The use of technologically advanced yarns including Coolmax facilitates thermoregulation and enhances the cooling and wicking effect of this innovative equine product.

EquiSox™ were designed to optimise post-performance recovery for elite equine athletes from any discipline - Racing, Eventing, Dressage, Show Jumping, Polo, Driving and Endurance. But it was quickly recognised in the early stages of the product trials to be a highly versatile product. Because EquiSox has a defined compression quotient it has a variety of uses in Veterinary and Rehabilitation Medicine. These would include - instead of bandaging while a horse is under general anaesthesia, box rest and general rehabilitation. EquiSox can also be used after Stem Cell Therapy, PRP and IRAP to assist joint remoulding. In a small trial the "EquiSox Ag" (contains silver ions which are known for their anti- microbial properties) had a dramatic effect on chronic cases of Mud Fever.

EquiSox™ are beneficial to preserve the leg profile after cold therapy (swimming, spa, cold hosing or icing) and also to maintain the therapeutic advantage afforded by this protocol. They are advantageous to be used under travel boots for long distance travel as they give soft tissue support and have a cooling and wicking effect to the limb.
